To save fuel after landing, an engine is shut down during taxi. We can clearly see on this photo the difference between the left prop, completely feathered after the shutdown, on the right one, in fine pitch.

Getting up early really sucks, especially during the winter when it’s so dark. But when you have the chance to fly eastbound, you can enjoy the moment when the sun is just about to rise above the horizon. For the rest of the flight, you better have good sunglasses 🙂
